Michael and Tiffany update

 

I received an update from Michael and Tiffany, and it seemed good enough to share:

 

School and work have been occupying nearly all of our free time lately!

 

    I had surgery on the 27th of January to re-attach a tendon in my left hand and it felt like a big step back recovery wise. My hand has been immobilized in a splint since then. I had my stitches removed on Wednesday and a check up from the doctor who said everything was healing well. It's going to be a long recovery for my hand because all my tendons shortened in length from being immobilized. So my one finger is fixed but I'm going to have to work hard to regain the full function of all my fingers.

 

    I'm getting anxious to be back to somewhat normal with a functioning hand. This semester has been quite difficult with the use of just one hand. I'm thankful for a computer I can dictate to and it will type my assignments for me ;)

 

    My results were ok from my catscan. The fracture in my vertebrae is not fully healed but it is not giving me problems so we will just keep an eye on it.  The doctor said there is not much that can be done for the small part that is fractured any way. 

 

    Tiffany is recovering quite well. Brusing and cuts on her hands have fully healed. She exclaimed today that it feels unreal that it happened since she can't observe any physical damage on her body. Very true that it is hard to believe what we have been through and how far we have come since then. 

 

    I have another appointment for my hand on Wednesday next week and then on the 27th we are leaving to California for ten days. A well deserved vacation to destress and relax. We both are in need of a break and some warmer weather!

 

    It looks as though somewhat normal life has resumed for the Lorang family. How has everyone been doing?  We haven't stopped praying and thinking about all of them.
