I promised I would put in a "plug" for the recently released DVD, The Eucharist for Little Children (it's also available through Amazon) featuring our pastor, our church, and our family at the Adoration Chapel. These "For Little Children" videos are done by a local (Alan Hartwick) who lugs around his own camera and lighting and pieces these together himself.
Indie, Catholic-style.
It is aimed at very small children, about ages 3-5, and my own children (who are all older than that) only like to watch the parts with the people they know. Including themselves.
If your children like shows like "Donut Man," they won't find the enthusiasm and exuberance of Jennifer Naimo overdone, and the content is really solid. The focus is very much on the Real Presence, with everything else pointing to that. I like the explanation of all the priest's vestments; not a lot of small people understand what those robes are all about.
There are a lot of shots of vestments, vessels, Mass in progress, Jesus in the monstrance, people (especially children) at prayer, even our Corpus Christi procession.
Only 20 minutes long, a lot of solid faith is packed into this little DVD for little children.
And this is a lead-in to my next project, which I'll be asking your help with soon....
Oh, hey - this sounds wonderful!
