It's been Rob's favorite week of the year: Knollcrest Music Camp week. He looks forward to this all year, and as soon as it's over he begins the countdown to next year. He is hoping to attend both Knollcrest and Blue Lake next summer, because he has friends attending each.
So we've been doing a lot of driving this week. And listening to a lot of lovely music :-)

He already looks like a great violin master. It must be sweet to listen to lots of beautiful music, despite the driving. Had my little 4th grade Maddi not heard her ancient crabby teacher inform me that she had no natural talent two months into weekly flute lessons, I might be hearing sweetness from upstairs, but after hanging in for a couple more months and being not encouraged there, it killed her drive to learn any music at all, apart from guitar. Other daughter had a better, younger instructor who was patient in helping kids develop their clarinet playing, and she did so, for at least 2 years, but never loved it. That's alright, as she truly didn't care one way or the other, and I was never wild about clarinet. Perhaps granddaughter will like it, tho'.

Yes, the driving is more and more difficult, but his joy is palpable. And audible ;-)
Life is good for him right now, in so many ways. I pray he maintains that jolly innocence of his through his adolescence. Life is tough for these kids...

I always think your kids don't need prayers.. they've got you and their dad and other fam and lots of priests around, but indeed, life is tough, and jolly innocence is a gift some would wrench from kids. I will pray for your lovely kids tonight, along with me own. Just because. Why is driving more and more difficult? Maybe I'd better pray for you first of all.

Your prayers are always welcome ;-)
You are in mine as well.
Let's continue to pray for one another.

One day on the other side, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be saying -- "Oh look, there's so-and-so whose prayers for me/mine worked such-and-such a miracle," while so-and-so is saying, "Oh, look, there's Carol. Her prayers came pretty close, actually."
But ok.
